It was with sadness and shock that I received the news of John Prom’s passing. What can I say that you do not already know about the wonderful person he was? I would see John every 5 years or so since we all left the Gambia in the 80’s, but whenever in his company at fund raising or social events, birthday parties in the US or Gambia, it felt like we only saw each other a weeks ago. His warm smile and jovial conversations about our early years in the Gambia was always refreshing. John exudes youthfulness, kindness, love, laughter and genuine care for humankind. To Pam, the children, the Prom and Evans families, Please accept my sincere condolences for your irreplaceable loss.
